Refugee-Led Organization intervenes in addressing security laps at Dzaleka.

A Refugee-Led Organization, Family Health Promotion in Malawi (FHP) has donated 867 whistles to the Camp Management Office through the Chief Security office under the Department for Refugees as one way of enhancing security in Dzaleka Refugee Camp amid security laps.

Family Health Promotion in Malawi through its Program Coordinator, Basinzi Mathumwabiri Placide, said the whistles will help increase alarm in all the zone of the camp whenever a family is attacked by thieves by alerting neighbors for possible intervention.

He further disclosed that the gesture aims at reducing theft cases in Dzaleka Refugees Camp as various criminal activities were recorded in different zones of the camp.

Receiving the donation, Dzaleka Chief Security officer, Serial Ngambi, commended Family Health Promotion for the gesture citing that his office in collaboration with Dzaleka Community policing commonly known as Sungu Sungu will distribute the whistles to some households in all zones of the camp and expect improvement in the security sector in Dzaleka.
